Produce reports from your analysis results and share findings with your team

Overview

This section covers the different ways to get information out of CAST Imaging - from quick data exports to formatted documents and compliance reports - and how to annotate objects in bulk so that findings can be shared and tracked across a team.

When to use this

Use these features when you need to:

  • Export the contents of a view or search result for use elsewhere.
  • Produce a formatted, top-level report about an application for stakeholders.
  • Generate AI-driven functional documentation.
  • Produce compliance reports (CWE, ISO-5055, NIST, OWASP, PCI-DSS, STIG, and others).
  • Annotate many objects at once with Tags or Post-Its so a team can act on them.

Workflow

  1. Export raw data. Use Built-in reports to download view or search results in CSV, XLSX, or JSON format.
  2. Produce a top-level report. Use Application reports to generate an executive or discovery report in Microsoft Word format.
  3. Generate functional documentation. Use the AI functional report to produce an AI-driven description of the application.
  4. Run compliance reports. Use the Report Generator for standalone, template-driven compliance reporting.
  5. Annotate findings for the team. Use the bulk Tag/Post-It import to apply Tags and Post-Its to many objects at once, so others can find and act on them.
