Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Terms
Overview
These Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Terms (“Terms”) apply to the AI-powered features in CAST Imaging Express (the “AI Features”).
The AI Features currently include:
- Explain View (Graph-Level AI Assistant)
- AI-Enhanced Application Summary Report
By enabling or using any AI Features, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the AI Features.
AI Feature Description
The AI Features are provided by CAST and involve interaction with a third-party Large Language Model (LLM), specifically Claude Sonnet provided by Anthropic, to generate natural-language explanations and narrative descriptions.
Depending on the feature used:
- Explain View transmits only metadata from the currently visible graph view.
- Application Summary Report transmits structured analysis outputs and metadata derived from application analysis.
No raw source code files are transmitted to the AI model.
CAST reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. You are responsible for reviewing them periodically.
User Acknowledgements
By enabling and using the AI Features, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
1. AI is Assistive Only
The AI Features are provided to assist interpretation of architectural analysis results. They must not be relied upon exclusively for decision-making. You are responsible for independently verifying key conclusions.
2. Accuracy and Output Limitations
AI-generated output may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or misleading.
CAST makes no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated output. Users must evaluate and validate output before relying on it for business, technical, or compliance decisions.
3. Feature Alteration and Unavailability
CAST may modify, suspend, or discontinue AI Features at any time without notice.
CAST does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability of AI Features.
4. Use at Your Own Risk
Use of the AI Features may result in unexpected output or loss of input or output.
CAST is not liable for any damage, loss, or business impact resulting from use of or reliance on AI-generated output.
5. Input Responsibility
You are solely responsible for all input submitted to the AI Features.
Depending on the feature, input may include:
- User prompts or follow-up questions
- Visible graph metadata
- Structured application analysis outputs used for report generation
You must not intentionally expose confidential, proprietary, sensitive, or regulated information that you are not authorized to process through the AI Features.
6. Reasonable Use
CAST may restrict, suspend, or disable AI Features if used in an excessive, abusive, or technically disruptive manner.
7. Underlying Third-Party Terms
Provision of the AI Features is subject to the applicable business terms governing the use of Claude Sonnet provided by Anthropic.
Users acknowledge that use of AI Features may involve processing by such third-party service providers.
CAST’s Use of User Input
By using the AI Features, you grant CAST and its affiliates the right to:
- Provide your input and relevant structured metadata to the LLM (Claude Sonnet) for the purpose of generating AI responses.
- Use input and associated metadata to improve how AI Features interact with CAST Imaging Express.
- Use or disclose input as necessary to comply with law, enforce contractual terms, safeguard security, or resolve technical or product issues.
For clarity:
- AI interactions are not used to train public foundation models.
- Processing is limited to the purpose of generating requested explanations or report content.
License to Input
You grant CAST a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, and create derivative works of your input solely in connection with:
- Operation of the AI Features
- Improvement and development of CAST products
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CAST, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your failure to use the AI Features in accordance with these Terms or applicable third-party terms; or
- Your gross negligence or willful misconduct in your use of the AI Features.
