AI-Enhanced Application Summary Report
Overview
CAST Imaging Express uses AI to enhance the Application Summary Report generated after application analysis. This automated report consolidates essential information about your application’s structure, technologies, and characteristics into a single document that is easy to review.
How to access
- Open any analyzed application in CAST Imaging Express.
- Click the download button in the top header.

- Select Generate Report from the popup.

- You will be notified when the report file is ready to download.
When is AI used?
Conditional AI section (transactions required)
If the analyzed application contains Transactions, AI generates a new section at the beginning of the report:
1. Application Summary
- 1.1 Core Purpose
- 1.2 Business Areas
- 1.3 Target Users & Roles
- 1.4 Main Features
- 1.5 Inputs and Outputs
If no transactions are detected, this section is not generated and the report begins with structural analysis sections.
AI-generated descriptions for structural sections (all reports)
In all reports, regardless of transactions, AI generates descriptive paragraphs for the following sections:
- Application Statistics
- Architecture Overview
- Programming Technologies
- Object Type Taxonomy
- Data Access
- Data Model
AI generates descriptive explanations only. Numerical values and technical findings are not created by AI.
How AI is used
Full AI-generated application summary (conditional)
When transactions exist, AI generates the complete Application Summary section based on:
- Transaction definitions
- Structural metadata
- Identified technologies
- Architectural layers
- Object relationships
The goal is to provide a business-oriented narrative and executive-friendly explanation of the application’s purpose.
AI-generated descriptions for structural sections
For every report, AI generates descriptive paragraphs to accompany structural analysis data. These descriptions provide context and explain what the data means, while the underlying numbers and findings come directly from the analysis engine.
What data is used
Transmitted to the AI
- Full application analysis results
- Transaction definitions and structural metadata
- Identified technologies and architectural layers
- Object relationships
Never transmitted
- Raw source code files
- Credentials, secrets, or sensitive configuration values
Processing flow
Full Application Analysis → Transaction Detection & Structural Metadata → Claude Sonnet → Application Summary + Section Descriptions
Privacy & security
- Only analysis results and structural metadata required to construct the report are transmitted.
- AI interactions are scoped to the report generation process and are not used for model training.
- No source code is ever sent to the AI model.
User responsibility & consent
By generating an AI-enhanced report, you acknowledge that structured analysis metadata may be transmitted to an AI service. You are responsible for ensuring that the analyzed application context does not expose restricted architectural information beyond intended usage.
These features are governed by CAST’s Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Terms.
