AIP Console - Application Management

Summary: this page describes Application Management section of Console.

Accessing Application Management

Login and switch to the Console option (all users can access Application Management):

Available options

The Application Management screen lists all Applications that the current user has permission to interact with (see Administration Center - Security - User Roles). The display differs depending on the onboarding workflow that is enabled - see Administration Center - Settings - Application Onboarding.

Onboarding with Fast Scan

Displays only applications that have been onboarded using the onboarding with Fast Scan workflow (Workflow - Application onboarding with Fast Scan).

1 - Onboarding toggle

Allows you to toggle between the two onboarding modes. See also Administration Center - Settings - Application Onboarding:

This toggle switch is never displayed if there are no Applications onboarded using the legacy method without Fast Scan.

2 - Filter

App domain - allows you to filter on the App Domain column, i.e. by domains that the Applications are attached to:

Filter selections are cumulative. You can delete individual filters or reset all filters at the same time using Reset app domains option.

3 - SearchSearch for a specific Application in the list.
4 - Onboard application

Allows you to onboard a new application using the onboarding with Fast Scan workflow (see Workflow - Application onboarding with Fast Scan). The following dialog will be displayed:

When there are no existing applications in this panel the dialog will be displayed automatically.

5 - Status icon

Indicates the status of the most recent action on the application:

From top to bottom:

  • Action in progress
  • Action waiting (another action is currently in progress)
  • Action has been stopped manually
  • Fast scan or analysis successful
  • Analysis successful but missing dependencies detected - see Validate using progress window and log messages
  • Fast scan or analysis failed with error
6 -  ApplicationName of the Application. Click to go straight to the Application - Overview page.
7 - Last action dateDate and time the most recent action was completed.
8 - Analysis Duration

Analysis Duration - displays the approximate time taken for the most recent analysis and upload to CAST Imaging:

  • Three units are considered - days, hours, minutes and up to two units are displayed at any one time.
  • When analysis is completed in seconds, duration is displayed in seconds (this is the only situation where seconds are used on their own).
  • N/A is displayed when the analysis has not yet been run.

This duration corresponds only to the analysis and upload to CAST Imaging steps:

9 - DomainDomain that the Application belongs to, if any.
10 - StatusStatus of the Application.
11 - Next ActionNext action available for the Application. This button will be disabled when a job (analysis/add application etc.) is ongoing. When the job is complete, the button will be re-enabled with the next available action.
12 /13 - CAST Imaging / Engineering Dashboard

Link to open either the embedded Engineering Dashboard or CAST Imaging (if configured):

The icons are always displayer but will be disabled where as full analysis has not been successfully completed.

Legacy onboarding

Displays only applications that have been onboarded using the legacy workflow (Workflow - Legacy application onboarding).

1 - Onboarding toggle

Allows you to toggle between the two onboarding modes. See also Administration Center - Settings - Application Onboarding:

2 - Version Status/App domain

Filter options:

  • Version Status - by default this tab is enabled and allow you to filter on the Version Status column. Ticking a sub-option, for example Analysis failed, will display only those items matching that status:

  • App domain - by default this tab allows you to filter on the App Domain column, i.e. by domains that the Applications are attached to:

4 - Add application / Onboard application

Add application

Add a new Application into Console using the legacy workflow - see Legacy application onboarding - Add a new Application.

Onboard application

If onboarding with Fast Scan workflow is enabled (see Administration Center - Settings - Application Onboarding) this allows you to onboard you application using the onboarding with Fast Scan workflow mode - see: Application - Overview with Fast Scan.

5 -  ApplicationName of the Application. Click to go straight to the Application - Overview page.
6 - Version

Version name.

Note that when a version is rejected, purged or deleted, the next most recent version will be displayed in this list. If no other latest versions exist (for example you deleted/rejected the initial version for the application) no version will be displayed for the application in this list.
7 - Analysis Duration

Analysis Duration - displays the approximate time taken for the most recent analysis that has been actioned:

  • Three units are considered - days, hours, minutes and up to two units are displayed at any one time.
  • When analysis is completed in seconds, duration is displayed in seconds (this is the only situation where seconds are used on their own).
  • N/A is displayed when the analysis has not yet been run.

8 - App domainDomain that the Application belongs to, if any.
9 - Version StatusStatus of the current version for the given Application.
10 - Last Action Status

Status of the most recent action performed for the given Application:

  • Green = success
  • Yellow = action stopped manually
  • Red = action failed

11 - Next ActionNext action available for the Application. This button will be disabled when a job (analysis/add application etc.) is ongoing. When the job is complete, the button will be re-enabled with the next available action.
12 - Engineering Dashboard / CAST Imaging

Link to open either the embedded Engineering Dashboard or CAST Imaging (if configured):

The icons will be displayed in the following situations:

Engineering Dashboard

  • if the embedded Dashboards have been set up (see Embedded CAST Dashboard deployment process)
  • AND if there is at least one version created for an Application - however, this can mean that there may not be snapshots available, therefore clicking the icon will lead to an error when opening the embedded Engineering Dashboard.
