*Purpose
This page is a guide to troubleshoot the problems you may encounter while using Server Manager and its features to Update Install or reinstall databases.
Server Manager is the CAST client application that provides a means to:
- Install CAST server-side components (for example an Analysis Service) to a target server
- Update CAST server-side components
- Re-install CAST server-side components
- Uninstall CAST server-side components - including dropping the database/schema hosting the components
- Load the MetaModel from file

Action Plan
- Select the pages that you are interested in
- If you are using an e-mail to login into your machine (something like first.second@hotmail.fr ) and have a crash with Server Manager, then the issue could be that your network login is not properly recognized. To remedy this,see the documentation for setting the option 'RegsterLogin=1' in the GloballySharedSettings.ini file and then upon starting server manager to enter your login as <domain>\<userid>. - If you encounter the below issue while launching Server Manager, go to Server Manager Component
If you encounter an error message Duplicated Package information: XXXX, while launching Server Manager, after deploying an official CAST UA and following the instructions to copy the UA files to the ProgramData area, refer to the page: Server Manager Component - If you encounter an issue while connecting to Server Manager, an error is encountered which says: "Invalid Profile: Connection Failed" then refer Server Manager Component
- If you encounter an issue while loading the metamodel,
- Make sure your language package has been validated and saved using the UA Assistant
- Select the database/schema that hosts the Analysis Service
- On the toolbar, select Database/Schema Installation > Load MetaModel > From Disk
- CAST Server Manager will then import your language package automatically
- When completed, the Analysis Service will be updated with the new language package and you can use the Universal Analyzer to analyze your new language (it will be available in the Language Selection page). - To check if a customer metamodel has been fully loaded into the KB or CB, refer: Server Manager Component
- If you encounter an issue while loading the metamodel with CAST Storage Service and you attempt to use the Remove Locks option, CAST Server Manager will display the following dialog box to indicate which connections will be terminated.
Click Yes to terminate the sessions to proceed further. - Please see the page in step 1 that best fits your issue for any further assistance, including the information requested for that operation when opening a ticket with Technical support.
