CMS Snapshot analysis - Run Metrics Calculation - Performance issue

This page will help to troubleshoot the performance problems, that may happen while running the Metric calculation.

Performance issue means either the Metric calculation analysis is stuck and never ends or it takes longer time than expected to finish.

1. Open the metric assistant analysis log in a text editor(like NotePad++) and search for the keyword "[MAv2] Exiting.".
   1. If the above search returns a result, then the analysis has finished. In this case you will have to identify the analysis step(s) responsible for the performance issue
      1. Observe the delta in the timestamps for each information message in the analysis log. For the following example:
         
         The delta for the 2 parsing messages is less then 1s
      2. Identify the step(s) responsible for the performance issue. 
   2. If there is no result in the analysis log, then the analysis is stuck and the issue is happening during the action logged in the last information message.
2. According to the identified steps:
   1. If the performance issue is happening during parsing of a specific file, for instance after an information message like the following: [MAv2] Computing metrics on C:\CASTMS\Deploy8316\TestFalse\My Package\19951.c. 
      1. Exclude file and rerun analysis and verify if it solves issue
      2. If not and analyzer crashes on different file, consider using Dichotomy or continue with file exclusion, depending on the analysis time
   2. If the crash is happening during any other step, rerun analysis and verify that issue is reproduced. 
3. Check whether the issue is similar to any one of the issues listed below.
