Previous installations of CAST AIP and any Service Packs you have applied will be displayed as below (note that the CAST Storage Storage and Report Generator entry will only be visible if you have chosen to install them):

What do you want to remove?Notes
CAST AIP

If you have applied Service Packs, you must first remove the Service Packs starting with the most recent first, then the "baseline" CAST AIP release (CAST 8.0.0 in the image above). For example if you have 8.0.0, 8.0.1 and 8.0.2 installed, you mist remove them in the following order: 8.0.2, 8.0.1 and then 8.0.0.

Info
  • You will not be able to uninstall the "baseline" CAST AIP release if Service Packs remain on the workstation.
  • Similarly, you cannot remove Service Pack 1 (8.0.1 for example) before you uninstall Service Pack 2 (8.0.2).
  • If you have not applied any Service Packs, you can remove the "baseline" CAST AIP release (CAST 8.0.0 in the image above).
CAST AIP Service Pack
CAST Report GeneratorCan be removed at any time and does not impact CAST AIP/CAST Storage Service.
CAST Storage ServiceCan be removed at any time ((warning) but remember this will ALSO remove any CAST databases (Management/Analysis/Dashboard/Measurement) installed on it - see Appendix - CAST Storage Service maintenance activities for more information about backing up your CAST Storage Service).
Info

Please note that:

  • you cannot run the CAST AIP installer (setup.exe) choosing the "Remove" option to uninstall the CAST Storage Service, please use the instructions provided above instead.
  • in certain, undetermined situations, you might see the CAST AIP shortcut and directory still present in the Start menu after the uninstall process has completed.
  • you should ALWAYS restart the workstation following an uninstall procedure to ensure that the registry is cleaned up.
