Introduction
CAST AIP requires a PostgreSQL RDBMS to store the data generated during analyses and snapshots (see Infrastructure sizing guide). PostgreSQL is highlighted in the following CAST AIP architecture diagram:
Note: the architecture diagram above refers to 'CAST Storage Service/PostgreSQL'. CAST Storage Service is End of Life; the supported storage component is now a standard PostgreSQL installation.
PostgreSQL
CAST AIP supports PostgreSQL as its storage host, installed directly on Linux, on Microsoft Windows, or through Docker. For more information see: PostgreSQL for Linux or Docker.
