*Purpose

This page is a guide to troubleshoot the problems you may encounter while using the CMS Infrastructure Services - Review Dynamic Links

This feature enables you to review “dynamic links” between objects following an analysis.

Dynamic links are links that have been identified between objects (usually based on search strings) and saved to the Analysis Service but their authenticity cannot be absolutely determined by CAST.

How to review Dynamic Links :

Description

After migration when you try to synchronize the local or central you would get the following error -

Step by Step Scenario

Upgrade Databases with CUT
Open Cast-MS with migrated MNGT
Click on the central base and synchronize.

Action Plan

The error is because the the table DSS_SITES on the central base is not correct. It contains a central schema name for a server type equivalent to a local site.

Purpose (problem description)

This page outlines the issue where the below error is encountered while synchronizing an Analysis Service or the dashboard service.

Services/CASTDB on Oracle/CAST_TEST_LOCAL: Analysis Service “CAST_TEST_LOCAL” has same service ID as the Analysis Service “CAST_TEST_LOCAL”.

Any Service ID must be unique among all services displayed in the Infrastructure view. The configuration problem typically occurs if you backup a CAST database and restore it under another name.

Purpose

The main purpose of this page is to explain how to handle when the synchronization never ends.

Action Plan

When the synchronization never ends:

Check the server status. If the same task is running for four hours as you can see below,
1. it can be due to a performance issue or a lock on the Knowledge database if it is so then
2. Stop the CAST-MS process using the Task Manager tool
3. Perform a CSS Optimize on the Knowledge base and central database.
If the issue is still occurring, stop the CAST-MS process using the Task Manager tool and restart the RDBMS Server.
