Step by Step Scenario
- View count of tables on analysis overview.
- View count of tables on Dashboard Quick Access.
- Compare the count of CMS tables with the count of Dashboard tables.
Action Plan
Check the expectations:
We can see in this example that there are 697 Tables shown in the Dashboard while CMS indicate 580 “Oracle table”, which mean that we have 117 more tables counted in the Dashboard.
If we look at the objects counted on CMS we notice that we have exactly 117 “Oracle materialized views”, this number is exactly equal to the surplus of tables found in Dashboard.
In fact the count of tables shown on Dashboard can represent one or several of following categories ( Please refer to the following page Geting types of objects counted in CMS)CMS objects considered as tables on Dashboard SQL Table SQL Server UDT TABLE CSAP unresolved Table SAP Table Oracle table Oracle object table Oracle materialized view DB2 z/OS relational table Sybase table Microsoft table In our example the additional count on the Dashboard represent “Oracle materialized views”.
If the expectations are verified:
- If the Count of tables in CMS module overview is is bigger the the count from CED then refer to CMS Application - Modules - Incorrect module content - Unexpected objects
- Else if the Count of tables in CMS module overview is is smaller the the count from CED then refer to CMS Application - Modules - Incorrect module content - Missing objects
