Storage for CAST AIP
End of Life Notice
CAST Storage Service (com.castsoftware.css) is End of Life and is no longer supported or distributed. Customers previously using CAST Storage Service must migrate to a standard PostgreSQL installation. CAST recommends PostgreSQL 18.x.
Introduction
CAST AIP requires a PostgreSQL RDBMS to store the data generated during analyses and snapshots (see Infrastructure sizing guide). PostgreSQL is highlighted in the following CAST AIP architecture diagram:

Note: the architecture diagram above refers to ‘CAST Storage Service/PostgreSQL’. CAST Storage Service is End of Life; the supported storage component is now a standard PostgreSQL installation.
PostgreSQL
CAST AIP supports PostgreSQL as its storage host, installed directly on Linux, on Microsoft Windows, or through Docker. For more information see: PostgreSQL for Linux or Docker.
