Introduction

This panel enables you to manage two different license keys as follows:

CAST Imaging license key

When you want to access and import application data into CAST Imaging, a license key is required. There are various types of key that can be inputted, and all restrict the user in some way, for example:

Introduction

The Roles panel enables you to manage the roles that can be granted to your users/groups (via the Admin Center - Users panel). All users MUST be granted a role (either directly to the user or to a group the user is a member of) before the user will be able to access application data or interact with CAST Imaging features.

Introduction

The Users panel enables you to grant/revoke existing roles to your users and groups:

When clicked, a list of existing users/groups and their assigned roles is displayed:

The current logged in user is never displayed in this list - to manage roles for the current user you will need to log in with another user that has the ADMIN or SUPERADMIN role.
When local authentication mode is active:
- it is not possible to create groups, therefore assigning roles or Application data access permissions to groups is also not possible.
- all users (except the current logged in user) that have been created in the application-security-local.xml will be listed.
When LDAP, Active Directory or SAML authentication modes are active:
- Only users/groups that have specifically been assigned a role will be listed (note that groups are not supported when SAML authentication mode is active).
- Groups are taken directly from the back-end LDAP/Active Directory system and must therefore be created there before they can be exploited in CAST Imaging.
When SAML authentication mode is active:
- Granting roles/permissions to groupsis supported in**≥ 2.9.0** (not supported in previous releases).

Introduction

The Applications panel enables you to manage the Applications that are available in CAST Imaging and can be added in to the User Guide - Application to Application dependencies scope:

When first displayed, no options are visible in the screen, even if Applications have been imported into CAST Imaging already. Links must be generated before any options will be listed in this screen:

Admin Center - Multi tenant panel

Introduction

The Multi tenant panel enables you to manage the tenants within your instance of CAST Imaging:

Tenants enable Application data to be kept separate and for each tenant to have its own specific set of roles - including a tenant admin to administer all Applications in the tenant. Users/groups can then be assigned a role(roles) which permits them to view specific Application data. One specific use case for this feature is to be able to use one single CAST Imaging instance to host multiple Applications that multiple users need to access, but you do not not want all users to be able to access all of the Applications. You also need each tenant to have a dedicated admin user that can manage the Applications within that tenant.

Introduction

The Search panel allows you to configure parameters specifically for searching for objects in the current application based on the objects’ properties.

In ≥ 2.20

All the properties are listed in the central management of the properties in the admin. You can display the hidden properties by configuring (selecting) the respective properties in the admin center under search tab. Based on properties configured in admin center, they are displayed in right panel as per what is applicable for the selected object (along with default properties) and all the configured properties are available in the global search.

Admin Center - API key generation and usage

Available in CAST Imaging ≥ 2.5.

The API key generation option is available to users with the ADMIN or SUPER ADMIN roles and is to be used only when linking CAST Imaging and CAST Console:

When the icon is clicked the following dialog box is displayed:

Click Generate to create a new API key and then use the Copy icon to copy the key to your clipboard. You should save the key in a safe place since the key will never be shown again. If the Generate button is clicked while the dialog box is open, a new key will be generated and the previous key will be deleted automatically and will not be valid anymore.
