&lt;p&gt;The alias feature allows you to choose which &lt;strong&gt;PostgreSQL instance&lt;/strong&gt; is used to fetch the source code for an object in a given application when &lt;strong&gt;&lt;a href="https://doc.castsoftware.com/export-v2/imaging/cast-imaging-user-guide/user-guide-working-with-items-in-the-view/user-guide-viewing-source-code/"&gt;Viewing source code&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;. The &lt;strong&gt;Applications panel&lt;/strong&gt; enables you to manage the application aliases.
