Introduction

Some extensions (whether custom or official) need to be installed in a variety of locations:

In the CAST Management, Analysis and Dashboard Service schemas (extensions are not installed to the Measurement Service schema).
In theCAST Delivery folder, within the “plugins” sub-folder - this is necessary for all extensions that add an extractor or a discoverer to the CAST Delivery Manager Tool.
Into the CAST AIP Assessment Model if the extension includes Quality Rules/Measures/Distributions.

If you have created a custom extension that you are actively using and you think other users could benefit from this, you can share your extension with the wider CAST community using CAST Extend.

Introduction

When a user uploads a custom extension, it needs to be validated by a CAST Extend user with Moderator rights before the extension is made available to other users.

Prerequisites to validating an extension

Only CAST Extend users that have the “Moderator” right are able to validate extensions for publication. If your login has the Moderator right, then you will see an additional “Moderation” menu in your user profile in theCAST Extend website:

Introduction

When you upload a custom extension, as the owner you have full rights to manage that extension. Therefore you can:

Delete the uploaded extension so that the extension is no longer available for others
View unlisted extensions, i.e. any uploaded extensions that have not yet been validated by a user with Moderator rights

Delete an uploaded extension

Deleting the extension will remove the entire extension from CAST servers. Please ensure that this is really what you want to do. Click Profile under your username:

The Change Forecast tool is provided in CAST Extend to help you prepare for an upgrade of a given extension. The tool provides the ability to choose two extension releases (i.e. the current extension you are using and the target extension you want to upgrade to) and view the changes that have occurred between the two releases.
