Summary: This section of documentation provides an explanation of how to run install, re-install and other CAST Server Manager tasks in an automated and repeatable way.

Introduction

The install/reinstall/update/uninstall of CAST AIP schemas and extensions is achieved using the GUI based application CAST Server Manager with the following menu options:

Schema Installation > Schema Installation
Schema Installation > Upgrade Installation
Schema Installation > Component Uninstall
Schema installation > Manage Extensions
Schema Installation > Troubleshooting > Remove Locks

If you need to automate these tasks, then you can do so by using the CLI (Command Line Interface) provided with the CAST Server Manager. This document explains how.

French menus visible prior to connection

After launching CAST Server Manager and before connecting to a database server, CAST Server Manager displays its menus in French: (Fichier, Edition, Affichage) instead of in English (File, Edit, View). After connecting, all menus change correctly to the English language as expected.

Separate tablespaces/devices for tables and indexes

When a CAST database (Analysis/Dashboard/Management Service) has been installed using the option to install tables and indexes on separate tablespaces/devices, the following restrictions apply:

	File > Open Connection	Launches the Open Profile Connection dialog box enabling you to open a connection to a server. Please note that this is NOT a concurrent connection. The existing connection will be closed. See Open new connection for more details.

Edit Toolbar

	Database/Schema Installation > Database/Schema Installation	Enables you to install new CAST AIP schemas (for example a combined installation or a standalone Analysis Service) to a target server. See Database/Schema Installation for more information.
	Database/Schema Installation > Upgrade Installation	Enables you to upgrade existing out-of-date CAST AIP schemas to the current release. See Component Update for more details.
	Database/Schema Installation > Component Uninstall	Enables you to uninstall existing CAST AIP schemas. See Component Uninstall for more information
	Database/Schema Installation > Component Reinstall	Enables you to reinstall existing up-to-date CAST AIP server-side components already installed on the selected CAST AIP schema. See Component Reinstall for more information.
