Template Selection (on Specific Objects)

This step enables you to select which templates you want to assign to the objects selected in the Object Selection step.

What are Templates?

Templates define what the wizard will actually take into account when the reports are generated. CAST supplies various pre-defined templates that will automatically be assigned to the different objects you have selected for the report. You can create new and manage existing templates using CAST Report Center.

The wizard essentially has two separate sections:

Selected Objects


This section displays all the objects (both server and client applications) that you have selected (in Object Selection) to be part of the report.

Available Templates

This section displays the name and path of the Templates that have been found by the wizard for the object selected in the Selected Objects section to the left (see above).

Selecting a Template name (as in the image to the below) will display a short explanation in the section below.

Select (by selecting the appropriate check box) which templates you want to assign to each object.

Notes

Please note that you can assign different templates (or different combinations of templates) to the same type of objects. For example, two different tables can have different templates assigned to them, even though they are both tables.

What to do next…?

Once satisfied with your selections, click <Back to return to the previous step, click Next> to move on to the next step, Finish to go directly to the Report page or Cancel to abort the process.
