Tools > Options > Application Settings

This page provides an explanation of the various options that can be set to optimize and modify the behavior of the workspace in Enlighten.

The workspace feature in Enlighten is very simple, yet can be highly practical. When this option is activated on closing, Enlighten will save all settings and currently open saved views. The next time you open Enlighten, you will prompted to choose whether you want to restore the saved workspace and all saved views and associated Object Browsers that were open when you closed Enlighten.

This page provides an explanation of the various options that can be set to optimize and modify the display of objects in the Graphical View.

By default all object types listed in this tab are selected. This means that any objects displayed in the Graphical View, or those that you place in the view will automatically be expanded to display all information. When an object’s corresponding check box is cleared, the object will be displayed in contracted form.

This page provides an explanation of the various options that can be set to optimize and modify the display of items in the Object Browser window.

Sort

Sensitive Sort

Enables sensitive sort on object names and types.

Sort By:

Name

Selecting this option without sensitive sort will list the main items in the Object Browser window in descending alphabetical order.

With sensitive sort also selected, the main items are sorted into Server and Client objects and are then sorted alphabetically.

Tools > Options > Code Location Manager

The Code Location Manager tab is to be used in conjunction with the Code Viewer or the Open Object/Dedicated Application function. It allows you to create path replacement rules to enable the application to successfully locate the required client side file (for code viewing or editing requirements).

When client side projects are analyzed with CAST Products, the actual location of the files is identified and then stored in the Knowledge Base (along with other information). Depending on the setup used in your organization, the application may not be able to resolve the client file location using the information stored in the Knowledge Base.

Connect with default profile at start	Use this option to automatically connect with the settings defined in your default connection Profile when you launch the application. See Launching Enlighten for more information.

This page provides an explanation of the various options that can be set to optimize and modify the behavior of grids, pages and print options in the application.

Grid


Show Grid	When you select the option Single Grid, this option will display the grid in the Graphical View. If cleared, the grid will be invisible but still active. Selecting this option on its own (without Single Grid) will have no effect.
Single Grid	Select this option to activate the Grid. When activated, objects that you move in the Graphical View will automatically “snap” to the grid to enable easy alignment.
Size in cm X	Move this slider to the right to increase the size of the Grid. The size is indicated in centimeters.

Tools > Options > Messages & Errors

This tab enables you to configure various options for the errors and messages that are saved to an external file. These messages are also displayed in the Log Window.

Main Log File Name

Log root directory

This field displays the directory in which the application specific log file will be stored - by default this is set to your TEMP or TMP environment variable, with the addition of:

CAST\CAST\<version_number>

This page provides an explanation of the various options that can be set to optimize and modify the behavior of objects and links in the Graphical View.

Objects


Double Click call dedicated Application	Selecting this option will cause a dedicated application to launch when you double click an object. To find out more about the Dedicated Application option, click here.
Show Full Names for Server Objects	Selecting this option will cause any server objects displayed in the Graphical View to be displayed with their full name, i.e.: database.object_name.
Show Full Names for Client Objects	Selecting this option will cause any client objects (i.e.: those that are part of analyses) to be displayed with the full name, i.e.: analysis_name.object_name.extension.
Small Objects in Graphical View	Select this option to reduce the size of objects displayed in the Graphical View. By default this option is not selected. CAST recommends that you refresh the Graphical View after selecting this option.
Choose Font	Clicking the Choose Font button will launch the Font dialog box enabling you to choose the Font, Style and Size of the text used for the objects displayed in the Graphical View. You can also change the Script used if you have another stored on your PC.

This page provides an explanation of the various options that can be set to optimize and modify the display mode in the application and in the Code Viewer.

Property

Automatically Refresh Property

Selecting this option will force the Property Window to automatically refresh. For example, when the tab is active and displaying information relative to an object in the Graphical View, if you then select another object in the Graphical View, the Object Properties tab will refresh and display the new information. When left blank, the Object Properties tab will NOT refresh when another object is selected in the Graphical View.

Report Options…

Clicking this button will launch the HTML Report Configuration dialog box, which is explained in more detail here.
