Tools > Options > Grid/Page
This page provides an explanation of the various options that can be set to optimize and modify the behavior of grids, pages and print options in the application.
Grid
| Show Grid | When you select the option Single Grid, this option will display the grid in the Graphical View. If cleared, the grid will be invisible but still active. Selecting this option on its own (without Single Grid) will have no effect. |
| Single Grid | Select this option to activate the Grid. When activated, objects that you move in the Graphical View will automatically “snap” to the grid to enable easy alignment. |
| Size in cm X | Move this slider to the right to increase the size of the Grid. The size is indicated in centimeters. |
Graphics
| Graphics Mode: Fast/Normal/Medium/Slow | This slider enables you to define in what mode objects will be moved in the Graphical View. For example, if set to Fast, when you move an object in the Graphical View (select an object, hold down the left mouse button and drag the object to its new position) only the outline of the object will be present as shown on the right.
If set to Slow, the whole object will remain in the Graphical View whilst being moved.
This option can be particularly useful if you are moving a lot of objects at the same time: set the slider to Fast and the screen refresh will be much quicker. |
| Hide Speed Scrolling | This option increases the scroll speed in the Graphical View when selected. |
Print
| Print page markers | Select this option if you want page markers to be included in your print-outs of Graphical Views. The page markers will indicate which page has been printed out of the total that have been sent to the printer. The markers will appear in the bottom right hand corner of the print-out. |
| Black and white printing | Select this option if you are using a color printer but only want to print in black and white. |
Display
| Show Pages | Select this option if you want to display a "grid" equivalent to A4 pages in your Graphical View. This can help you work out how many pages your view will be printed on - as shown in the image below which indicates that the view will be printed on four pages.
