Summary: This step describes the process of splitting the Delivery folder when upgrading Console/Node packages to v. ≥ 1.13 from an older release.

Note

If you are already using Console/Node v. ≥ 1.13, then please skip this step.

Introduction

In Console 1.13the format of the Delivery folder assigned to each Node was changed so that each Application now has its own dedicated Delivery folder within the parent Delivery folder (previously, the parent Delivery folder was global to all Applications).

Pre-upgrade actions

Stop all services

Before starting the upgrade, ensure that you stop all services/Docker containers and any Nodes that are managed by your Console installation.

2.x - Docker install upgrade process

Summary: This section describes the upgrade process for the Back-end Node package on ALL Nodes.

Note

There is no upgrade path between 1.x and 2.x. Instead see Upgrade path in Upgrade AIP Console.
The steps described in this guide:
- need to be performed on all Nodes that are managed by Console.
- are not required if you are using the Console Standalone deployment which includes one single Node together with Console.

Step 1 - Perform a backup

CAST highly recommends that you backup the Node data folder before proceeding - this is so that a roll back can be actioned if necessary. This is achieved simply by copying the folder to another unrelated location.

Summary: This section describes the upgrade process for the integrated CAST RESTAPI when using the Dashboards embedded in Console. CAST highly recommends upgrading this file when upgrading to a new release of the Console/Node packages.

Note

If you are not using the Dashboards embedded in Console, this step is not required. Instead, please see Standalone Dashboard upgrade.
You must always use the cast-integrated-health-engineering-dashboard-.zip/.jar / CAST-RESTAPI-integrated.warfile provided with the current release of Console.

Upgrading to a new release

The upgrade process is relatively simple and uses a side-by-side approach where the new installation is installed alongside the old one.
