These installers are an alternative to a deployment on Docker, however, they contain some limitations/constraints and require some additional manual configuration post installation. Therefore CAST highly recommends that Docker is used for an enterprise deployment scenario wherever possible - see AIP Console - front-end installation. If you do need to use the Java JAR installers, follow the steps below.

2.x - Enterprise mode - Installation of Console front-end via global Windows Installer

This Enterprise mode installer is currently available as a beta.

Introduction

This installer (com.castsoftware.aip.console.windows.setup) is aimed at non-Docker deployments on Microsoft Windows and will, in time, replace the individual Java JAR installers described in 2.x - Enterprise mode - Installation of AIP Console front-end via Java JAR installers. The aim of this installer is to simplify the deployment process: all front-end services (SSO/Keycloak, Service Registry and Gateway) are combined into one installer, which means that it is not necessary to run each installer separately.

2.x - Standalone mode - Installation of AIP Console front-end in standalone mode

In ≥ 2.1.0-funcrel, CAST provides one single Java JAR installer for a “standalone” deployment, as a separate download media available on CAST Extend (https://extend.castsoftware.com/#/extension?id=com.castsoftware.aip.console.standalone&version=latest):

This installer is targeted at deployments on Microsoft Windows on one single machine. The installer includes all required services in one single Java JAR installer:

One single Node back-end service

Note

CAST Console 1.x is now deprecated (as of 06 October 2023). This means that no further development will be provided for this component, however fixes for customers issues will be provided up until 31 March 2024. If you are still actively using the CAST Console 1.x, you should plan a move to CAST Console 2.x as soon as possible.
