Step by Step Scenario
  1. Using the CSSResetPassword.exe get the License key and contact CAST Support to get the Unlock code.
  2. After getting the Unlock code from support try to reset password using the CSSResetPassword.exe with below command.

    CSSResetPassword.exe  -host <CAST_Storage_Service_host_machine>  -unlockcode <Unlock_code>
    Example
    CSSResetPassword.exe -host 123.456.678.910 -unlockcode - f5d7bcaef5dc0ab7fb141bf4187f9216
Action Plan

This error may come if the license key used to generate unlock code is not correct. If the host is for different machine you will get the license for that machine and hence unlock code generated is for different machine and you will get the error in question while resetting the password.

  1. Solution is to get the license key correctly using CSSResetPassowrd.exe  by keeping the right host and port .
  2. Once you have right license key, then contact CAST Support to get the unlock code.
