Step by Step Scenario
  1. Consolidate any 7.0.x central base
  2. Consolidation fails within few seconds with error - Portfolio is invalid on this central
Action Plan

The reason for this error is in 7.0.x if you have 2 or more applications sharing a module then you will not be able to consolidate it on HD of 7.2.x or 7.3.x or 8.0.x (shared modules is not supported) Hence, you get the error message – Portfolio is invalid on this central.

Get list of functional modules that are shared between two or more applications - SQL Queries - CAST Central Base - Checking and removing corruptions in CB - List of functional modules shared between applications - Draft, if the corruption is confirmed then apply the remediation then re-set the measurement base & perform the consolidation again

Impact on Analysis Results and Dashboard

Analysis - N/A Dashboard - Initially there was a module which was shared between 2 or more applications after applying the workaround, you will have a new module for one of the applications.

Notes/comments

The above workaround is valid only if you have one snapshot per application.
In 7.0.x if you have 2 or more applications sharing a module then you will not be able to consolidate it on HD of 7.2.x or 7.3.x 0r 8.0.x. This kind of Portfolio where there are shared modules is not supported for HD.
