Purpose (problem description)

This page provides assistance with resolving the issue of function point tiles showing N/A on the  Health Dashboard as shown in the screenshot below:

Various tiles dealing with the function point results can exhibit this behavior. For information on tiles, please see this page: HD - Tile management

Step by Step scenario

  1. Perform analysis and snapshot
  2. View results on HD dashboard
  3. Automated Function Point tile shows N/A
Action Plan

  1. This behavior can be due to the fact that the Enhancement measure is performed with Automated Enhancement Points (as shown in the screenshot below):
This is because the HD tiles for EFP results pull data ONLY from the EFP measurement data and not AEP measurement data, which explains the observed behavior of the tiles showing N/A. In order to show data from only the AEP measure,  the default HD WAR file can be deployed to show results or changes can be made to the HD tiles so that the AEP data is used instead of EFP data.

This involuntary misconfiguration can occur as a result of an upgrade to CAST AIP 8.2.x or greater as these versions use the recommended Enhancement setting of Automated Enhancement Points as a default measurement paired with not making tile changes after the upgrade so that the tiles from the previous version are used.  For more information about tiles used per mode you can refer to required action of the following documentation: Upgrading to CAST AIP 8.2.x

If this is not the case then go to the next step

  2. Verify that the AEP results are being properly displayed in the CAST Engineering Dashboard (CED) in the size baseline view as described here: Size - Baseline. If function point results are not being properly displayed, then navigate to this page for assistance: CAST Engineering Dashboard - Metrics - AFP
