Problem description

When trying to connect to a specific KB, Enlighten hangs.

Action Plan

To accelerate opening of Enlighten: Add the following two options to the CAST INI-files:

  1. In C:\Documents and Settings\<Your Windows Login>\Application Data\CAST\CAST\<CAST_VERSION>\Enlighten.ini

    [Optimizer]
    Auto = 0
  2. In C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\CAST\CAST\<CAST_VERSION>\GloballySharedSettings.ini

     [Global]
    ForceOptimizerChoose=1
  3. Updated statistics using Execute DBMS_UTILITY.ANALYZE_SCHEMA('your-schema', 'COMPUTE'); (this is for Oracle).
