Purpose

This page provides the solution for the java.lang.outofmemory: java heap space fatal error that comes up on CMS snapshot window while running the synchronization step.

Action Plan
  1. Open the CAST-MS log file that is in CAST Management Studio path
  2. Search for the error message.
  3. If the error message occurs just after loading the file CWProfileConnection.ini file like below screenshot :


  4. Go to the location of the CWProfileConnection.ini file. In the above example, the path is : S:\ProgramData\CAST\CAST\8.2\CWProfileConnection.INI
  5. If the file has a size higher than 1 MB, then it is corrupted :


  6. Close CAST MS.
  7. Backup the file by changing the extension from INI to INI_Bck
  8. Open CAST MS again
  9. Run the Snapshot or the analysis or Synchronize service.
  10. If the above steps does not help you, contact CAST Technical Support with Relevant Input.
