Step by Step Scenario
  1. Configure a UI analysis
  2. Run analysis & analysis fails in few seconds with error - Failed to parse xml file: (File cannot be opened (pos l: 0 col: 0))
Action Plan

This error is the result of regression on 7.3.2 where the UI analyzer looks for LanguagePattern.xml file.

This error was encountered while using PowerCenter Language Package, hence for reference a dummy PowerCenterLanguagePattern.xml is attached here PowerCenterLanguagePattern.xml

The solution for this problem is to

  1. Create a dummy XXXLanguagePattern.xml file in the UI profile/package (in the path Configuration\Languages\<XXX>\<XXXLanguagePattern.xml>)
  2. Re-run the analysis.
  3. If your issue is not resolved after following the above steps then contact CAST Technical Support with relevant input.
