Step by Step scenario

  1. Discover and Deliver the source
  2. Accept the delivery and set to current version
  3. Run the analysis
  4. Analysis crash while running the Oracle Forms analysis unit
Action Plan

Perform the below actions.

  1. Get the following Relevant input
  2. Following link CMS Snapshot Analysis - Run Analyzer - ORACLE Forms - Information - Recommended configuration for running an analysis - Archived provides the configuration which needs to be present on the machine to run the Forms analysis. This is a mandatory configuration so we need to check this before moving further on the troubleshooting.
  3. Run the analysis again so that you have two log files to compare.
  4. Compare the two log files and check whether the crash occurs on the same file.
If the crash occurs on the same file, run a third analysis and select only the identified file, this should reproduce the crash.Try to open this file with FORMS Builder on the machine on which the analysis is being processed. If the identified file makes FORMS Builder crash, then this explains the behavior of the Oracle Forms Analyzer. If the file opens correctly then contact CAST Technical Support. with the inputs in Relevant input section.
  5. If the crash occurs on multiple files,Try to open files (on which crash occurs) with FORMS Builder on the machine on which the analysis is being processed.
    1. If the identified file makes FORMS Builder crash, then this explains the behavior of the Oracle Forms Analyzer.
    2. If all the file are opened with out any problem then contact CAST Technical Support. with the inputs in Relevant input section.

If the issue still persists then submit your problem to CAST Technical Support. with the inputs requested in Relevant input

Relevant input

  1. CAST Support Tool (CST) - alias Sherlock selecting options Export Logs, Export Configuration files, Export CAST base and Export Source code.
  2. Source code : Source code is very much necessary as most of the issue are because of the source code in Oracle Forms.
  3. LTSA folder
Impact on Analysis Results

Impact of issue: Analysis crashes with error message in the analysis log
Impact after applying solution: Analysis runs fine.

Notes/comments

(warning) Form crashes are not always reproduced on other machine. We also need to map the LISA and LTSA folder to the ones from original machines to reproduce the same issue.
