Below is the step-by-step scenario leading to the problem:
- Discover and deliver the application
- Accept and set as current version
- Run Analysis + Snapshot
The impact of the problem on the analysis or the dashboard is: Snapshot will not be successful so there will be no results on the dashboard for this snapshot.
To fix the problem, proceed as follows
- This issue is caused by a configuration problem in assessment model.
- As shown in the above log file last there numbers are the metric Ids because of which the problem occurs.
- Open CAST-MS and open Assessment model view.
- Search for the metric ids from the last line of the log as shown below.

- Under the quality rules to compute before the current one,you will find a list of rules. In that list,you will find that 7390 is checked. So,this creates self references of rules and crashes the snapshot.
- Un check this option to remove the cycle. These are not the default configurations.
