*Purpose

 This page is a guide to troubleshoot the problems you may encounter while using the CMS Infrastructure Services - Connection

 Connection feature is used to test the connection from the CAST Management Studio to your database server hosting your Management/Analysis/Dashboard Services (in case of connection issues, or when you have added a Database server) then you can do so from the service view, Refer the screen shot below:

Action Plan
  1. If you are getting the error "Can't connect Database...." as shown in the screenshot below while testing the connection between CAST-MS and Database server, you need to check the network issue.

  2. If your database triplet is Microsoft SQL Server, and you encounter an error message similar to this:  

    Browse failed  - * Can't Connect Database DB_TEST      * Unable to get information from SQL Server: DB_SERVER

     Then it means that the SQL Server Browser service is not started. Start it and retry to connect.

  3. If the problem you are facing does not match any case listed in this page, contact CAST Technical Support with below relevant input.
