This page will help you solve problems related to SQL Tool.

SQL Tool is a feature of CAST AIP that provides a means for users to manually modify the content of the CAST Analysis Service once a job or set of jobs have been executed and the results stored.

For more information, refer to:

*Observed in CAST AIP
8.0.x (tick)
*Observed on RDBMS
Oracle Server(tick)
Microsoft SQL Server(tick)
Action Plan
  1. When an SQL Tool is failing, first check that the syntax used for your query matches the RDBMS on which the current Analysis Service is running. You can copy this query on run it on the RDBMS and check if the error occurs. If it occurs, fix the query.
  2. Verify that you are on supported platform for your CAST version. For example, Oracle 10 is not supported for CAST 8.1.x and above as shown in the documentation here: Supported Platforms
  3. As an alternative option, you can create an external program to run your query in a batch file and then run the external program instead of the SQL tool.
  4. If none of the above point resolve the issue, contact CAST Technical Support and provide the below Relevant Input to allow CAST to reproduce the issue.

Relevant Input

  1. Sherlock (CAST Support Tool (CST) - alias Sherlock). The option to select are Export Database Backup and Export logs.
  2. Relevant Screenshots showing the issue.
