Purpose

This page will help you solve problems related to Cast Update Tool (CUT) and will also guide you through the official documentation to understand the functional and technical scope of this component.



 

The CAST Update Tool (CUT) is designed to bulk upgrade CAST databases. It allows the upgrade of one or multiple Management Services and their corresponding Analysis and Dashboard Services from a given version to the latest installed version.

This process will upgrade all the associated databases simultaneously. The databases can be upgraded using one of the two available modes: 

  • GUI: Graphical User Interface (CUT)
  • CLI: Command Line (CUT-CLI)

Action Plan
  1. Identify the main step where the issue occurs :

    1. Issue when launching CUT : CUT is not able to open, or an error is raised when executing CUT, or unusual behaviour occurs as below screenshot :


    2. Issue when launching the update : That means that when CUT is open, and you have selected the databases to migrate, an issue occurs immediately after clicking the Update button as below screenshot :


    3. Issue when the update is running / in progress : You have clicked the Update button, and an issue occurs after a while as below screenshot :


    4. Issue during the Configure From Migrated Database : The 3 databases have been ligrated successfully, but a CAST MS command line that will change the configuration has failed like below :
