Step by Step Scenario

Below is the step-by-step scenario leading to the problem:

  1. Create connection profile
  2. Select connection profile to start CAST-MS
Impact of the Problem

The impact of the problem on the analysis or the dashboard is:

Unable to start CAST-MS to do any analysis

Action Plan

The reason for this problem is that the management database in the connection profile is not found in the database server, this may be due to a typing error or case error when entering the management database name in the connection profile.

To fix the problem, proceed as follows:

  1. Click on the browse button. See the screenshot below to find out where the browse functionality is located.
  2. Select the appropriate database from the popup screen.

 Figure 2

Selecting using the browse functionality will help you to verify that you have the proper management database name. This will also allow you to see which CAST databases are on the machine you are trying to connect to.
