Step by Step scenario
- Access tomcat app manager from a browser
If you are using Tomcat version which is higher or equal to v8.5.15 then the issue can be due to the fact that you are trying to access the tomcat Manager App by using the IP Address or the Host-name instead of localhost.
One solution is to use the localhost when you are trying to access the Tomcat Manager App on the machine where the Tomcat is Installed.
However incase you try to access Tomcat Manager App from a different machine where using Host-name or IP is necessary, below solution can be used depending on the tomcat version:
- When Tomcat version is v8.5.15, add the file manager.xml in the folder : ..\conf\Catalina\localhost, then restart tomcat.
Figure 2 - When Tomcat version is higher than v8.5.20, Comment the Value section in the file "context.xml" paced at location: ..\conf\context.xml as shown in the below screenshot, then restart tomcat.
