2.1.0-funcrel

New Features

SummaryDetails
GUI - Admin CenterThe Admin Center has been completely redesigned with a more user-friendly interface. See https://doc.castsoftware.com/display/IMAGING/Configuration+options+-+Admin+Center+GUI
GUI - Node propertiesA single left click on a node at any level will display the node's properties in a slide in panel located on the right hand side. Previously the node properties were accessed from a right click menu option called "Object Info" - this menu option has now been removed.
GUI - Hide/Unhide optionsHide and unhide icons have been added to the left hand icon menu to hide/unhide selected nodes when working in the drill down investigation panel beyond Level 5. These icons are in addition to the already existing hide/unhide options available in the right click contextual menu. See https://doc.castsoftware.com/display/IMAGING/User+Guide+-+GUI.
GUI - New Investigate panelA new panel called "Investigate" has been implemented - this is a "slide in" panel located on the left hand side. The panel regroups many different options that were previously distributed throughout the GUI. The goal of the new panel is to simplify the user interface. See https://doc.castsoftware.com/display/IMAGING/User+Guide+-+GUI#UserGuide-GUI-investigateInvestigatepanel.
GUI - Additional information provided for link typesWhere a link between two objects/nodes is qualified with a specific sub-type, for example Use Select or Access Exec, CAST Imaging will now show this information when working in drill down mode beyond Level 5. Previously only the main link type was displayed (e.g. Use or Access). Note that this type of information is not present for all links between objects/nodes and for some link types, no change will be visible.
GUI - Critical Path option - BETAA new option "Critical Path" has been added to the left hand icon menu. In 2.1.0, this option is enabled by default and is in BETA. It displays the critical (i.e. shortest) path between two objects (source and target). This option is available when working in drill down investigation mode, beyond Level 5 in Transaction view and Data Call Graph view. See https://doc.castsoftware.com/display/IMAGING/User+Guide+-+GUI#UserGuide-GUI-Leftsidebarmenus.

Feature Improvements

SummaryDetails
Data export - Optimize exporter.exe CLI to add specific option to allow quick export and importA new option has been added to the exporter.exe CLI called --limitedscope. This option will perform a truncated export of data in order to improve the time needed to show results in CAST Imaging. This option is therefore aimed at POC, demos etc. where results need to be produced quickly. See https://doc.castsoftware.com/display/IMAGING/Export+the+CSV+data.
GUI - PreferencesThe Preferences item has been removed from the Admin Center and placed in a floating menu, accessible from the user menu. See https://doc.castsoftware.com/display/IMAGING/Configuring+display+preferences.
GUI - PreferencesA new option has been made available in the Preferences called "Saved views drill mode". This option changes the method of accessing saved views. See https://doc.castsoftware.com/display/IMAGING/Configuring+display+preferences. Previously this option was a toggle switch located in the main view itself.
GUI - Saved views creationIt is now possible to create a saved view when drilled down beyond Level 5 in an Application view. The displayed vignette is retained in the Saved view. In addition, items such as legends and hidden objects will be retained in the saved view.
GUI - Saved views exploitationSaved views can now be exploited just like any other standard Application view. In other words, you can drill down and right click objects/nodes just as you would with a standard view.
GUI - Communities expand optionsThe Communities expand options when working in drill down mode beyond Level 5 have been removed from the right click contextual menu and are now present in the new Investigate panel. See https://doc.castsoftware.com/display/IMAGING/User+Guide+-+GUI#UserGuide-GUI-investigateInvestigatepanel.
GUI - External object filterThe External object filter (the ability to hide/display external objects that originate from outside the Application scope) is now available when working in drill down mode beyond Level 5, for standard, transaction and architecture model layers. Previously the External filter was not available at these levels. See https://doc.castsoftware.com/display/IMAGING/User+Guide+-+GUI#UserGuide-GUI-investigateInvestigatepanel.
GUI - Add Linked ObjectsThe Add Linked Objects feature - see https://doc.castsoftware.com/display/IMAGING/User+Guide+-+Using+the+Add+linked+objects+feature - available when working in drill down mode beyond Level 5 in the right click contextual menu, has been improved to include Method objects. Previously, these object types were not included in results of the Add Linked Objects action. As a result of this change, additional objects may be returned that were not returned in previous releases of CAST Imaging.
Data export - Optimize exporter.exe CLI to add specific option to allow export from a PostgreSQL database other than "postgres"A new option has been added to the exporter.exe CLI called --database. This option allows an export to be performed where the CAST AIP schemas are stored in a database other than the default "postgres". See https://doc.castsoftware.com/display/IMAGING/Export+the+CSV+data.
Data export - Optimize exporter.exe CLI to add specific option that allows an application to use a display nameA new option has been added to the exporter.exe CLI called --applicationname. This option allows an application to use a specific display name in the CAST Imaging GUI, if the internal application is not appropriate or needs to be anonymized. See https://doc.castsoftware.com/display/IMAGING/Export+the+CSV+data.
