This section provides a detailed description of the contents of the File menu within the CAST Architecture Checker:

New Architecture Model

Use this option to create a new Architecture Model. The New Architecture Model dialog box will be displayed enabling you to do so. See Define a new Architecture Model for more information.

If you are working on an Architecture Model, you will be prompted to save any unsaved changes you have made.

Open Architecture Model

Use this option to open an existing saved Model. See CAST Architecture Checker - Open an existing model.
New Quality Rule Model

Use this option to create a new Quality Rule Model. The New Quality Rule Model Definition dialog box will be displayed enabling you to do so. See Define a new Quality Rule Model for more information.
Open Template-Allows you to open and edit an existing template saved as a .CASTArchitect / .CASTRule file. See Working with Templates.
Save / Save Template

Use this option to save your Model or your existing custom Template:

  • If you have not previously saved the Model / Template, you will be offered the chance to choose the location and name of the .CASTArchitect / .CASTRule file used to store the entire Model / Template.
  • If you have previously saved the Model / Template this option will simply overwrite the existing .CASTArchitect / .CASTRule file.

Save As-

Use this option to save your Model / Template: you will be offered the chance to choose the location and name of the .CASTArchitect / .CASTRule file used to store the entire Model / Template.

Export

Use this option to export the Quality Rule Model into "extension" format (option only available when a Quality Rule Model is active. See Export a Quality Rule Model for more information.
Properties

Use this option to define Properties for the current Model.
Exit-Use this to quit CAST Architecture Checker. You will be prompted to save any unsaved changes you have made.
