FRAME_PORTAL_COMPLIANCE_VIEW

This view is designed to deliver information about a single application in order to check its latest status with regard to Rule Compliance, Rule Compliance trends and the compliance level to Quality Rule-based metrics whose "Critical Contribution" option has been set.

This view requires access to at least one Application.

Note that this view is now deprecated. You should instead use the Health Dashboard.

Layout

Left hand panel

Please see the section Left hand panel in Using the CAST Engineering Dashboard for more information about this.

Main window panels

Four main panels are available:

Current Overall StatusCurrent grade (see Threshold indicator colours in Using the CAST Engineering Dashboard) of the Application for the following Business Criteria (Rule compliance): Programming Practices, Architectural Design and Documentation.
Critical Violations

Critical Violations - shows the location of the Critical Violations. Use the drop down list box to select the Technical Criterion you require.

Note that there may be more Critical Violations for a given Quality Rule displayed in this section than for the same Quality Rule in other CAST Dashboard views (such as in the Investigation - Application Drilldown). This is due to the way the Compliance - Application level view functions (which differs from other views). In this view, the number of Critical Violations per Quality Rule is equal to the sum of the Critical Violations for a given Quality Rule in each Module in the application. In other words, when a "shared" object (i.e. shared between multiple Modules, which can occur frequently with Visual Basic applications for example), violates a Quality Rule it will be counted as a Critical Violation as many times as the number of modules the object belongs to. In other CAST Dashboard views, the violation is only counted once per object regardless of the number of modules the object belongs to.

Rule Compliance - TrendsShows the Rule Compliance trend for Programming Practices, Architectural Design and Documentation between the current and previous snapshot. kLOCs are also shown.
Rule Compliance - Further DetailsShows the current grade (see Threshold indicator colours in Using the CAST Engineering Dashboard) for Rule Compliance for the lowest 15 Technical Criteria. Use the drop down list to select the Technical Criterion you require. A "heat map" (use the drop down menu to activate it) shows the grade colour (see Threshold indicator colours in Using the CAST Engineering Dashboard) for specific technologies.

Note that changing the type of a given Business Criterion in the CAST Management Studio (via the Assessment Models editor) will not change the display of Business Criterion in the Current Overall Status panel. This is because the view uses fixed display criteria and does not rely on the Assessment Model.
