Using the Impact window |  |
The Impact window displays the results of:
- a Preview Linked Object operation > in the Linked Objects tab
- a Call Hierarchy operation > in the Impact Analysis tab
Headings
The column headings are relatively self-explanatory:
- Name > Object name
- Type > Object type
- Owner (Linked Objects tab only) > For server objects - indicates the object owner's name
- Link With (Linked Objects tab only) > Indicates the linked object (in most cases this will be the object selected as the starting object)
- Ways (Linked Objects tab only) > Indicates the direction of the link (Calling or Called)
- Link Type Summary > (Linked Objects tab only) > Indicates what type of link exists between the objects in the Name and Link With columns
- Level (Impact tab only) > Indicates the object's level. "0" indicates the starting object, "1" is an object that is directly linked to the starting object and level "2" and above indicate objects linked to other levels with a link back to the starting object
- Project (Impact Tab only) > Indicates what project the object is part of
Expand Collapse feature
The "+" and "-" signs to the left of the dialog box can be used to expand or collapse the selected object. By using the expand option, you can view more information about the type of link that connects the starting object and the object selected in this window:

| Use this option to locate the selected object in either the Technical Browser, in the Domain Browser or in the current view. The object will be selected and/or highlighted when located. |

| Use this option to send the selected object to a particular view, Library or the User List. |
| - | CTRL+M | Search in Code | Use this option to search for any character string or regular expression located in the selected object. See Search in Code for more information. |
| - | - | Search in BF/Comment | Use this option to search for any character string or regular expression located in the selected object. See Search in BF/Comments for more information. |
 | F11 | Code Viewer | Use this option to display the code of the selected object in the Code Viewer. |
 | F12 | Properties | This option will display an HTML based report about the selected object or objects in the Property window. |
| - | - | Use this option to Print the list of objects. | |
| - | CTRL+C | Copy | use this option to copy the selected item. |
 | Toggles the object name display - full name or name. |
 | Use this icon to select a filter profile prior to carrying out a Preview Linked Objects operation. All subsequent operations during the session will use the filter profile you select here. If no user created filter profiles exist, then the default filter setting is used - i.e.: all object types and all link types excluding Escalated Links. |
 | Toggles the results view between objects and Functional Domains. |
