Understanding Active Layers

The Active Layer is the Layer to which all objects and links (except Belongs To links and Escalated links) that you add to the Graphical View will be assigned to. By default this is set to the Default Layer.

You can immediately find out which layer is the Active Layer because it will be highlighted in green.

Setting the Active Layer

To set the Active Layer, you can:

  1. Right click the Layer you want to set as active in the Layers Window. This will launch the shortcut menu.
  2. Select Set Current from the menu.

The Layer you selected will then become the Active Layer and will be highlighted in green.

Notes

  • Please note that you CANNOT make the Belongs To or the Escalated layer the active layer.
  • Objects that were added to the Graphical View prior to the change in Active Layer (and which were thus assigned automatically to a different Active Layer) will NOT be re-assigned to the new Active Layer.
