Report on this Graphical View

To launch the Report on this Graphical View, you first need to create your Graphical View (click here to find out more about placing objects in the Graphical View). Then do the following:

  1. Click Tools > Generate Reports and On this Graphical View... from the drop down menu.

A standard windows Save dialog box will then be launched, in which you can specify the location for the Report on this Graphical View.

Selecting the option Use full report width for image view (recommended for printing) will cause the embedded image of your Graphical View to be automatically resized depending on the browser window size. As suggested, this option can be particularly useful when you want to print the Report on this Graphical View result - the image will "fit into the browser window" at all times. When this option is ignored, the image used in the Report on this Graphical View result will always be one size, regardless of the browser window size.

Once you are satisfied with the location, click OK to proceed. The report will then be generated.

Results

Once completed (this can take several minutes depending on the number of objects present in the view) the report will be launched in your default Internet browser. An example is shown below.

The above example displays a report with the Use Frame option selected. To find out more about how to configure your reports, click the Report Options... button in the Property and Code Viewer tab. You can, however generate a report without frames if your default Internet browser does not support frames.

  • Left Hand Frame > the left hand frame displays a list of all the objects present in the Graphical View. You can click these objects to move directly to the corresponding section in the right hand frame. This is particularly useful if you have a large number of objects in the Graphical View and it is difficult to locate the information you require in the right hand frame.

  • Right Hand Frame > the right hand frame displays an image of the Graphical View together with a list of each object and various other information such as any associated comments, business functions etc. In addition, the image of the Graphical View is clickable, meaning you can roll the mouse pointer over an object to find out its name, and then double click it to move to the corresponding information in the list below.

If you want to re-open a report at a later date, simply use your Windows Explorer and open the HTML file directly.

Notes

  • If your Graphical View is unsaved, you will be prompted to Save it before you can proceed with this function. Click here for more information about saving Graphical Views.
