Dropping a link will remove it from the Knowledge Base.

  1. In the Graphical View, select the link or links that you want to drop from the Knowledge Base.
  2. Select Object > Remove Link > Drop Link on the toolbar (you can also use the right click shortcut menu).
  3. You will then be prompted whether you want to do this - select YES.

The link will be removed from the Knowledge Base and you will no longer be able to see it in the Graphical View.

When the a Reference Pattern identifies a link between two objects, an X type link will be added to the Knowledge Base. The Remove Match Link option enables you to drop the link's identifying mark from the Knowledge Base but will NOT remove the entire link.

If however the link ONLY contains this identifying mark, the whole link will be dropped when using this option.

If you want to drop the link AND the identifying mark, then use the Drop Link option described above.

  1. In the Graphical View, select the X type link or links that you want to drop from the Knowledge Base.
  2. Select Object > Remove Link > Remove Match Link on the toolbar (you can also use the right click shortcut menu).
  3. You will then be prompted whether you want to do this - select YES.

The link and/or the identifying mark will be removed from the Knowledge Base and you will no longer be able to see it in the Graphical View.

 Notes

  • Please remember that dropping a link from the Knowledge Base means removing it from the Knowledge Base. You will no longer be able to view this link once you have dropped it from the Knowledge Base.
  • This option should also not be confused with the Deleting objects and links from the Graphical View option which only removes the selected link (or object) from the Graphical View, but NOT from the Knowledge Base.
  • You cannot drop Escalated and Belongs To links.
