CAST Console 1.x is now deprecated (as of 06 October 2023). This means that no further development nor bug fixes will be provided for this component. If you are still actively using the CAST Console 1.x, you should plan a move to CAST Console 2.x as soon as possible.

When you have successfully completed the Install Console and Node packages step, various configuration steps now need to be worked through in order to complete the deployment process:

Step 1Install additional tools and patches - optional - v. 1.x

Depending on the Console / AIP Core releases you are using, it may be necessary to perform some additional manual actions not automatically managed by the GUI/CLI installation process.

Step 2Configure AIP Node storage folder locations - optional - v. 1.x

This optional step describes how to change the default storage folder locations for each Node for the following and other items:

  • Delivery
  • Deployment
  • File Upload
  • Backup
  • Sherlock
Step 3Ensure AIP Console and AIP Nodes are running - v. 1.x

This step ensures that the Console and all Nodes are running.

Step 4

Complete start-up wizard - v. 1.x

This step explains the "one-time" start-up wizard which enables you to configure various mandatory settings.
Step 5Declare AIP Nodes in AIP Console - v. 1.xThe Console front-end package does not yet know about the analysis node(s) (i.e. Node package(s)) that you have installed. Therefore any Nodes that you want to manage in Console must be declared manually as described in this step.
Step 6Determine Extension Strategy - v. 1.xThis step ensures that an "extension strategy" is implemented before the first analyses are run. This strategy can be seen as "controlling mechanisms" to prevent or grant access to any official or custom extensions that have been published by CAST. It is not mandatory to make any changes to the default options, however, CAST does recommend that you evaluate the correct strategy for your own environment.
